Independence Day!

Holidays are family affairs, especially the 4th of July!  Since it lands smack in the middle of the summer, everyone is ready for time off to celebrate.  And when I say "everyone", I mean "everyone!"  I think all of North Georgia was at Lake Acworth this year!  We had reserved a table on the lake close to the bandstand.  Thankfully it was on the perimeter of the collection of tables so we could extend our territory to include all thirteen of us!  (me, Jeff, Jessica, Casey, Samuel, Anna, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Jayne, Jaca, Jenna, Billy and Ellen)  We picnicked with all the traditional foods--fried chicken, pasta salad, watermelon, strawberries and banana pudding.

Oh, did I say lemonade?
We all wore our red, white and blue.
Waiting on fireworks.
Even Anna was dressed for the occasion.
Until the sun got lower in the sky, we were all melting.
Samuel was keeping cool by sucking on ice.
Don't we look patriotic?
Billy and Ellen are relaxing.  As a matter of fact, Ellen relax so much,
she actually fell asleep.

Looks like everybody had a lot of fun! But, how in the world could Aunt Ellen fall asleep in such horrid heat?

She dosed off after the sun went down but before the fireworks began.
